Default Pier solar genesis versions...what language is in the game?

    Hi

I own the first version of pier solar, but has never opened it.
I'm curious what's the region differences, do the have different language packs? What language do the genesis version has?

If I remember correctly, the different region versions had up to three different languages, selected to represent the majority of languages spoken in each region. So for the American release, it was English, Spanish and Portuguese. For the European version, it was English, German and French. And for the Japanese version, it was only English and Japanese. Note that this is from the top of my head and it's almost 7 year old information, so I could be completely wrong here.

There's some writing on the inside of the package, too -- either Burmese or Georgian, I never figured out which (or what it meant).

I finally tried to make sense of the writing on the package, which does turn out to be Burmese. Alas, it seems to be nonsense, so it's probably just random letters typed to seem "exotic".

Oh right, Japanese was dropped at the last minute because there were no qualified volunteers to proofread the Japanese script, correct? I don't quite remember what the Japanese release got instead.

(Yes, I know I could just look it up on Google or Wikipedia, but that feels like cheating.)

How about me? I spent almost two hours installing Burmese fonts (and puzzling out a very tricky script) to try to find any sort of meaning in either that language or in phonetic English...

I don't know what that is (wouldn't surprise me if it means something like "Mega Drive and Blast Processing forever!!!", as Fonzie did that), but the NPC chanting a spell in the Magic School says something like "If you figure out what this means, you probably have too much spare time" in Indonesian IIRC (I wrote it). And the choir during the final boss battle sings about the architects and Pier Solar (IIRC) in actual latin (Tulio wrote that).

From what I can tell at least some of the Burmese writing is mirror-inverted copies of each other (i.e. one column is identical to another one, but flipped horizontally), while there's at least one isolated character that never appears on its own in real Burmese (it'd be a bit like writing a musical sharp/flat with no note attached to it).

I'd be curious what Fonzie has to say about it, if you're willing/able to ask. I sent a picture of it to a Burmese colleague ages ago but never heard back.
