I landed a fun job in the summer '96 with a cousin of mine to walk Manhattan island handing out free Red Bulls from a backpack.

Red Bulls are good, but they're way too expensive. Especially considering that they only work marginally better than coffee.

Coffee is the greatest human invention after the Sega Mega Drive. I reserve the right to revisit this opinion once flying cars exist.

The other stuff in energy drinks like red bull seem stronger, so it's actually a good feeling buzz instead of just the negative sketchy effects of coffee. Would drink them more often if their negative side affect on the gut weren't felt after a certain amount of time drinking too much of the stuff.

It's interesting that coffee gives so many people so many problems. What kinds of effects do energy drinks have on your gut, Thief?

All of this talk about coffee and energy drinks reminds me of when I worked for a start-up company. We ran out of coffee and didn't want to buy any more, so we somehow got sponsored by Rockstar for our booth at a local event that we had. Then, a couple of weeks later, Red Bull sponsored our booth at a different event (we never said anything about exclusivity to either). The office space we were renting had a fridge in it (which was always empty except for some creamer one of the guys had), so we ended up with a fridge filled to the brim of Rockstar and Red Bull and nothing else. Good times.

Sharp pains every now then. Sharp pains go away when stopping the energy drinks, but takes awhile to fully recover, so until then your stomach is a little sensitive to low quality foods and alcohol. Recovered once, but again drank too much energy drinks + this time a lot of beer when hanging with this one buddy of mine. We had lots of crazy laugh out loud moments beer drinking, so was hard to say no to good times.

Energy drinks will give me bad stomach pain as well. It usually doesn't happen with coffee but it's really rare I have more than one cup.

Energy drinks always taste like mountain dew and bubble gum to me.

People always go, "I don't like the taste of coffee," which is fine. It's not for everyone.

    Then they drink that garbage.

Ever notice every other advertisement about saving money involves quitting a $5 a day latte habit? You know because all of us have a $5 a day latte habit and always drink "lattes." Apparently coffee can only be had at coffee shops.

I have been using a Braun KF510-WH AromaDeluxe (but never the built-in Brita water filter feature) with gold filter for over 10 years.
The coffee it self keeps getting more expensive and the Chock full o'Nuts containers get smaller and smaller as the years pass by.

I hate things like that. It is almost as stupid as telling you to save money and lose weight by not eating. Although, thinking about it, anything that stops people buying Starbucks, who do not actually sell decent coffee, but an array of milk and sugar, is a good thing.
