    Default No Escape

Ah, licensed slop. It's everywhere, no matter which console you own, and it's managed to transcend hardware generations like some mutant virus that morphs into a new strain every five years or so. The Genesis was no exception, as evident by today's poor example of wasted silicon. Sony Imagesoft continued its tradition of horrible licensed software with No Escape, a game surprisingly done by the mostly awesome-on-Genesis Psygnosis. What happened? Maybe it was an off day, or maybe the development budget all went towards women and booze. No one knows, and after playing this turd, no one probably cares either. Read our full review for the sad, sad details.

Again, awesomely written, and pretty much sums up why No Escape will probably be in no one's collection anytime soon.

Or at least, no one's except for Nick.

I've never even heard of this game, and I consider that highly unusual! Looks like ass. I still would have rented it, though.

    Yeah, rub it in.

And if neither Joe nor 108 has ever heard of a game, you know it's obscure.

Funny, the title "No Escape" makes for one of the worst unheard of Genesis games, and one of the best unheard of Atari 2600 games.

Naah, not by a long shot -- it's miles beyond the real dreck of the Genesis library like Onslaught, Andre Agassi Tennis, Adventures of Mighty Max, etc.

When you get past that terrible first stage and start to figure the game out, it turns out to be...not quite a diamond in the rough, but a real game with interesting ideas and multiple ways to win. At worst it's a poor man's Flashback.

Many years ago, he had it available for download on his website, but over the course of several redesigns, the music downloads part got nixed, unfortunately. Not sure why he got rid of them. Back then he had a bunch of tunes from various unreleased games for the Amiga and Sega/Mega CD.
