    Default I think I found a prototype

    Hello.
Messing with some old stuff I found a board with 2 EPROMS.
After removing and reading them, they seemed to be 2 8bit ROMS combined to form a 16bit one.
After merging them, at 0x100h I found:

    Code:
SEGA GENESIS (C)VRGN 1992.OCTGLOBAL GLADIATOR GLOBAL GLADIATOR GM T-70066 -00%J
It played fine for the few minutes I tested it in Gens/GS on my Ubuntu machine.
The CRC32 is 9ffb616f, is it something new?
    What should I do?

    Thanks in advance.

It seems it may be a match for the beta floating around going by the checksum in that ROM header, but the CRC32 I get is 08c2af21 instead of 9ffb616f but on the other hand, there's also the issue that CRC32 seems to have a few variants, so you may want to compute e.g. the MD5 checksum instead (which for the existing beta should be c18e9f1725a7b09f2f32274525a8376b).

Could be a preview meant for magazines?

    Ok.
    MD5 checksum: 466b53365cc8a4855d3b9131066d4ac6
I don't know, it's probably a preview, a pirate copy or a bad (defective) ROM.
I redumped them a few times and got exactly the same CRC32/md5sum.

I remember that when I played this game back on the day, if you died once, after you complete the stage you were in the game went back to stage 2 and you had to play all over again.
This is one of the reasons I never finished it as a kid. :-(
Does the retail version do this?

Also, I'm not sure if I shoul post it here, should I?

OK yeah that's definitely a different ROM from the two ones in no-intro. May want to talk to Hidden Palace or something.

The date of your ROM match with the final release (OCT 1992), but upload the rom here and we can test and compare.

Has the Game of the Year version ever been dumped?

    Fine.
Since I couldn't find a way to upload the file here, I'm posting the link for it on my Google Drive:

Hope you guys can figure out if it's really another prototype or just a slightly modified pirate version.
I was going to erase the EPROMs, but I won't do this, at least for now.
