Default What SEGA Hardware or SEGA games on Hardware. Did one like to use to show off SEGA

Just like to know what games people used to show off how good SEGA Hardware was, or how good SEGA games were to show off different consoles... Where you would tell your mates ONLY SEGA could do or make this...

    I'll give some examples

    Batman Returns

Really showed off the power of the ASIC chip inside the Mega CD

    Panzer Dragoon Orta
This game showed off how SEGA has/had some of the best art designers in the business and pushed the Xbox hard

    Yakuza II

Not only is this game totally amazing (for me the best in the series) but it also pushed the PS2 to crazy levels imo

    Radiant Silvergun

For me the best showcase game ever made and really shows off what the SEGA Hardware could do when asked

    Thunder Force IV

The game to make Snes shooter fanboys cry with envy

    Streets of Rage II

The game to make Final Fight looke like a joke on the Snes and where the game looked like a Neo Geo game, the gfx were so good

    JSRF

Only SEGA could make this, and the game still looks and sounds brilliant to this very day

    Astra Superstarts

Eye poping 2D visuals that would have given the PS a heart attack if had to try and handle a port

Depends on what kind of games you're in to. I'm only going to pick first-party games.

SMS: Quartet. The gameplay isn't super special, but the graphics and enemy design are unique.

GEN/MD: Comix Zone. Really awesome style and presentation, There isn't much else quite like it.

SCD: I would probably also go with Sonic CD. It has the 3D special stages, and a great soundtrack.

32x: Either Space Harrier or After Burner II. They're almost perfect arcade ports, and a lot of fun.

Saturn: This was hard to pick. Panzer Dragoon Saga if they like RPGs, Burning Rangers if they don't

DC: Jet Grind Radio. Nice graphics, nice music, nice gameplay. I don't have a lot of bad things to say about this one.
    Modded consoles:
Master System (v7040) with s-video & direct AV out
Model 1 with 10mhz overclock & halt switches
    Model 1 with 10mhz 68010
    Model 2 VA2.3 with unfiltered Mega Amp, & s-video
    Model 3 VA1 with compatibility fixes & s-video
    32X with s-video

I just a fan of games which pushed SEGA hardware the best, or where SEGA In-House games used anyone's hardware to its best...

I'll give a few more examples

    Virtual ON II

For me along with Shenmue II the game that pushed the DC the most. Insane visuals, PS2 killing clean textures and stunning colourful display and no matter the action, a rock soild 60 fps

    Thunder Force V

Just some amazing use of the VDP 2

    REZ

The game that showed off how amazing SEGA art team really are and for me the 2nd best game SEGA ever made in their History. FEAR IS THE MIND KILLER

    Sonic Colors

Not only one of the best Sonic games going, but also a game that really pushed the Wii hard and looked and sounded amazing

    Some more...

    SoulStar

The game for the Mega CD ASIC chip to destroy Model 7

    SEGA GT 2002

The car racing game of that era to have car models up there with GT. Add in better lighting effects, stunning depth of field effects in the replay's and the best 5.1 sound going. So overlooked by many

    Quackshot

Some of the best line and parallax scrolling out there at the time

    F-Zero GX

SEGA beat Nintendo at their own game and make a game that looks stunning, is insanely fast, supported widescreen and with the SEGA trademark stunning Art direction. I loved the stage with the giant R.O.B

    Panzer Dragoon Zwei

The power of SEGA's art team and the VDP2

    Binary Domin

The best 3rd person action game ever

    Valkyria Chronicles PS3

SEGA art team, well allowed to make the games they want and get the funding are the best in the business

    Samba De Amigo

To make a music game this good and fun, takes SEGA

I love Binary Domain but VanQuish is much better. I mean I do love Binary Domain. Easily the 2 best TPS games from their generation at least in single player.

Gears of War would like to have a talk with yous guys.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Nah. Gears is vastly overrated and very dated in its genre and didn't even invent the waist-high cover shooter genre as so many claims. Binary Domain and VanQuish are far better and still have unique aspects that keep them great. In fact I put EX troopers above Gears in gameplay.

One that I've always liked to show people that no one has mentioned yet is Vectorman. I think it looks and sounds great, but I guess a lot of people don't like the color palette or something. -shrug-
