Because it's the real system doing something similar to the snes but without hardware mode 7 support. The sprite limit was a huge characteristic of this and previous generations; the next gen didn't have this limit any more. It's one thing to turn it off in emulators, it's quite another thing to develop for it not existing.

"Why not just make it on Switch?" :P
(I already had people suggest I put it up on Switch wrapped in an emulator but that feels too cheap)

But yeah, you'd need to overclock too to prevent the framerate from sucking. Incidentally, I know that there's a mod for MiSTer that increases the sprite limit, and people are experimenting with widescreen hacks too… We may need to start standarizing all these extensions eventually or it'll become a horrible mess where everybody does their own thing and every game/hack requires a customized emulator >_>

    I chuckled at "Amstrad Revolution".

This game looks pretty nice. I'm really impressed with the rotation and look of the game. I really wish the dev would reach out to see if updated character art can be produced. Unless the goal was to have this look, which in that case, is understandable. Either way, this game looks to be doing some cool stuff.

FYI there's a few days left to preorder if anybody wants:

Let's hope the pandemic mess doesn't meddle too hard with shipping (×_×) (if it starts taking too long I'll need to start thinking on something to fill in the gap meanwhile, depending how it goes…)

Can't wait for my physical copy.
I love to see any new game developed for MD but the fact that Arkagis team pushes the MD into directions rarely used before makes this one a gem.
In my opinion we should really support developers that try new things.

Mine just arrived in the post today! I was confused by the package from France as I wasn't really expecting anything and then was shocked when I opened it and it was Arkagis Revolution! Will try and fire it up tonight if I'm able. But just wanted to say Thank you to Sik for creating this game and able to get it released to the masses!
