Have you guys seen how much a PAL copy of Knuckles Chaotix goes for on Ebay currently?! It's beyond insane.

The prices are only going to increase from here on out, raising the bar for entry for new collectors. The perceived rarity of a title being a major factor. All the picture perfect reproductions going around for every system lately is also going to make it difficult to figure out what's original or not. If you're a collector, you probably don't want to open up a cart just to see if it's legit. Instantly lowers its value. I sold my CIB copy of Spiderman for 32x about 10 years back for $300 or so, and thought that was a lot of money. I see someone wants $1700 for a CIB copy, and another person wants $1900 for a majority CIB 32x collection. What I don't understand is who is actually paying these prices in the age of emulation, and I never will. Get a Genesis Mini and wait for the Project Lunar mod to come out and you'll have upscaled games that look great compared to connecting stuff through RF switch and composite cables in 2019. And it's not like most of the games were even that fun on the 32x.

It supports RGB natively, no? And here in euro-land every TV has scart with rgb support.

I'd like to know when everything started.
32X always had bad reputation, it was always hard to find (at least in my zone), but it was always cheap because no one wanted it, so there was never the fear of missing out.
    Then suddenly the prices skyrockets.

The theory that comic books fans or some other wealthy collectors entered the videogame collecting seems every day more realistic.

Now that we are near Xmas it's a totally no-go for retrogaming so I don't even try, hope this bubble will end soon, but I know it's wishful thinking.

Has the 15-bit vdp been cloned? Is there any explicit datasheet or specification about the 15-bit vdp and mixer?

In the market for a 32X, but the EU prices are bonkers.

EU prices are ludicrous, even if for a miracle you manage to get a unit at a "low" price (USD/EUR 100), you still have a hard time with games...

Looks like Virtua Racing DX, Virtua Fighter and Doom are all still $10 - $20 each. Are you complaining that crappy games are expensive to gather dust on a shelf?

    Wish that was the case.
Personally I only buy games that I like and I want to play. Never collected just for the sake of gathering junk for shelves. On my 32X shopping list I have less than 10 games to buy, just saying.

Problem is at least in Europe, even Virtua Racing can reach $35-40 (two years ago it was $20), Virtua Fighter $60 and price is always on the rise, with auction up to $160.
Pal Chaotix sits now on $280 and we're "lucky" because it reached $350 last year, Kolibri is $500, the rest of the games are just random $100-200.

The worst part is that there does not exist a 32x game that's actually worth more than like $50. Most of the games are quite mediocre. Even the best titles aren't much better than "good".

I am in the EU and just got a cheap 32x for $208 USD which was the cheapest I could find, It does not have much I like so do not really know why I got it, The only games that are decent on it are Space Harrier, Virtua Fighter, Virtual Racing and Kolibri.

I think too that you made a "deal" at $208 given the current prices.
But even if you want to bite the bullet with resellers prices for the console, then it comes the games, and it's the same old tune.
Apart for a few, you're lucky for find anything good at lower than $100 especially in EU.

Probably a flash cart is the best option for 32X.
