This is for the people that had the chance to play Ultima or Ultima Online on PC
Need some colors adjustments here and there but seems really great in movement!
Thanks.
Current work-stream is related to the fight engine. Given the tactical combact I am shaping, alot of effort must go here.
Exploration, picking objects, talking, etc... is all in real time.
Combact is turn-based. Very much like you can have in Final Fantasy Tactics or playing Advanced HeroQuest.
But as of now I have:
- 6 STATS for each enemy
- 6 Damage ratios for each enemy or weapon
- 6 Defence ratios for each enemy or armour
- 9 different "perks" that enemies can have: like double strike, infectous attacs, poisonous attacks, etc...
- different behaviours that impact enemies both when "wandering" and when "in combact"
- player can combine different armours, helms, shields to defend
- player can equip different weapons each of them with different damage ratios and range
- each attack can also gain bonuses from the position like side or back attack bonuses
- stats influence how much you can move during combact, action points for attacks, critical chances, etc...
- experience can allow increasing STATS each new level you grow
- player STATS are affected by statues like: thirst, hungry, poisoned, tired, fever, etc...
- you can decide if you want full stats menu, compact stats menu or no stats menu so you choose real time how much you prefer to see of "numbers" and of the "play ground" during combact.

A quick update as I am extending the items usage implementation.
Exploration in ELLENICA can start from just finding a book and reading it!
The text might reveal a location that is added to the overworld map and then you can enter the new place!
Of course reading books or messages can solve steps in the quests, allow you to improve in some skills and maybe reveal a hidden location where you can find items, gold or simply new challenges.
Accessing the item in the inventory
Using the item
A location icon (the grotto) with a pointer is added to the overworld map
Some locations also provide extra graphics and text (in honor of old text adventures)
And then you can explore this new area... ...at your own risk!
