Default Project Alexandra (from Matt Phillips, the guy who did Tanglewood)

Yesterday it was announced Project Alexandra in it's own Twitter account:

    https://twitter.com/alxprj/status/1256562599191339008

The thread says all of this:

THE ALEXANDRA PROJECT is a hybrid shooter/RPG coming to the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis, featuring hover mechs with physics-based platforming, and giant multi-stage, modular, alien, mechanoid boss fights.

Your job is to track these down, destroy them piece by piece, then harvest any data contained within their central processing modules to further your research. This won't be easy - each individual part of a mechanoid is an A.I. controlled enemy of its own.

You won't just be fighting one big boss - you'll be fighting a conglomerate of sub-mechs that can detach and reconfigure themselves to suit the environment or the threat. Killed the head? Good luck, the tail is coming after you now.

Shot all of its legs off? Don't get comfortable, it will reconfigure itself to survive.

We recently completed the new game engine and tools that have been in development for 18 months, and work has now started on the game itself. The project is still in its very early stages, but we're excited to be able to show off some early concepts!
    Can't wait to play this!

Nice! Is this the same game as what he had teased in the past under the name "Luminary"?

    License: GPL 3.0
I'm guessing Matt intends to sell this engine commercially? Otherwise I don't see the reason for picking such a license...

He stated he picked GPL 3 for Tanglewood because he didn't really know what he was doing. Maybe the same goes for his engine.

Wish more ROM makers would release their sources under a free-software license like Matt
I bought and enjoyed Tanglewood (and got a few of my friends to buy it too) last year. Totally looking forward to this
The videos with him on Computerphile are great too.

I'm a huge Tanglewood fan. Love that game so much.
I was really excited to hear that Matt is working on his next Mega Drive / Genesis game. From the few details so far it really sounds incredible.

    Multi-stage boss fights!!!

@nihilblack Thanks for starting this thread.

This sounds great! Definitely would be a nice addition to the Genesis library, especially because of the interesting concepts behind the project.

Excited for a second MD game by Matt Phillips.

He has worked so hard on these projects, creating new tools, etc. Surely a project to be followed and supported.
