    Wii Wii emulation?

I was just considering trying this, really just for one game that I only like a small part of. (NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, I remember that I like the hub world, but not most of the game lol.)

I downloaded the emulator and it seems fine; I haven't downloaded the game yet (which will take forever to download with my current slow web connection).

So I was just wondering if anyone has tried Wii emulation, and how is it?

Do the controls work in emulation OK? Using a standard PC gamepad that has nothing to do with motion controls?

(It would be disappointing to download it and get it running, only to realize that all the controls are broken without motion control...)

Anyways just wondering if you guys have tried, thanks

The emulation is very good. The problem is getting the controls to work. You can come up with workarounds like mapping motion controls to an analog joystick but it doesn't feel the same. I would just get a Wii U.

Wii emulation on dolphin is very good.

I've had good luck re-mapping motion controls to DS4 or XB360 joysticks. I haven't tried this, but I've heard that you can pair a real wii remote to your PC with bluetooth and use it with dolphin.

    OP: Ignore above posts.

Assuming your computer is good enough, you should have no problems playing NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. It supports a gamepad natively, so it's not necessary to use the Wiimote (and I've heard it's much better with gamepad).

You can get a list of games with native gamepad support here:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ontrol_schemes

It's still possible to play games that require the Wiimote, but they might be more challenging. Basically, you have to map one of the analog sticks on the gamepad to the Wiimote motion controller. It can be a bit hard to control precisely. But it's enough for something like New Super Mario Bros.

Dolphin emulator is the way to go. Playing Sonic Colors 60fps 1080p cannot be done on a WiiU. Trust me. This is the way. https://dolphin-emu.org/

Yes, it does. I just used it on a Wii a few weeks ago.
