    You guys make some good points. I don't know about everyone else, but I like to have plenty of time to do my shopping and felt rushed last year, so I figured sooner was better than later. (I prefer to order something online as a last resort, but that might be more likely for everyone now considering the circumstances.) I also thought I might as well be prepared for people taking a while to make their lists, so I set a date that shouldn't suffer from having to extend the time for sign ups/list submissions.

    Sorry folks, I think I might have to cry off this year. I'm doing a hell of a lot more online shopping this Christmas and it's tricky to fit this in; I usually do most of my present buying in town so it was easy to fit in the odd bit of online stuff, plus work is getting crazy too.

    I'm gutted, I always enjoy this thing! I promise I'll be back next year.

    No worries. You've got to take care of all of that other stuff first. I appreciate you giving so much notice. If things look different in a week or so, feel free to have your list ready and join back in. If not, see you next year!

    My original date was 11/8. That was probably a big ambitious, and because we didn't get off to the fastest start, I went ahead and extended it to 11/16. I feel this is reasonable considering a decent amount of people have committed now. I edited my original post and added bold for emphasis.
