Lord of the Sword never fets old. The music and visuals are timeless, the gameplay felt special at the time and is still fun, progression feels smooth compared to games like Simon's Quest. Giant 16-bit sized high color sprites and lots of them at a time, the kind of variety of bosses rarely seen in NES games, loads of parallax... even after getting to discover the SMS games only available in other regions, Lord of the Sword is still one of my favorite games for any platform.

Undoubtedly the game can count on a striking visual appeal. I also think that the FM sound enhances the experience quite a bit. Sure, the difficulty spike right at the beginning and the limited continues must have hampered its reputation back then.

A bit late to the thread, but I quite enjoy this game.

    It's a shame I don't actually own it though :\
