    Megadrive Classic Interview: David Perry

Before Aladdin and Earthworm Jim became global Genesis blockbusters, David Perry was already making 16-bit waves with Cool Spot. He discussed the game and his design philosophy in this 1993 interview with the Spanish game magazine Mega Force. Read the full interview for more information.

Cool interview, he sounds like a fun person, with all his hobbies including jet-skiing, windsurfing, etc.

I always thought Cool Spot deserves to be a more popular game. It might be the most fun game based on a tiny character in the giant real world...

Interesting read, always interested to hear stuff about Cool Spot - it's probably one of few games I can say I truly mastered as it never tired on me. The music, animation and level designs are great which always surprised me considering the game's basis is a marketing tool. The marketing was originally lost on me though as in the UK the mascot for 7Up was a guy called Fido Dido - the young me never twigged the link between the 7Up cans/bottles scattered around the game and Cool Spot.
