Sega CD "Ecco the Dolphin, the Movie:" 32-bit, new best quality on YouTube

New best-quality version of "Ecco the Dolphin, the Movie," which is the 14-minute video, of 90's computer graphics, which shows the story and events, of Ecco's first title.

This "Movie" is made from combining several smaller clips, which are recognizable as the FMV's, seen in the Sega CD version of Tides of Time.

The same FMV's were also later released in better quality, in "Ecco PC," the 32-bit upgraded version of the original title, for Windows PC.

So I think it's worth seeing, in 32-bit, and it's the 1st time uploaded in HD, to YouTube.

(Also, it's legit to watch all the vid clips combined like this, because in the games, we could already use debug mode, to just watch them all, in succession. However, it's extra nice and convenient to actually have it combined in one video.)

It's definitely a relaxing "Movie" with great graphics, and Ecco's classic music.

Also it's the only time that the story of the first game, was made into 3D graphics... since the actual 3D Ecco game, on Dreamcast, does not do that.

Thanks for uploading, I remember these. I had Ecco and Comix Zone for Win95. You didn't even need the debug mode, you could just browse the disc and find the files. They are Cinepak videos with AVI as the container, 256x160 resolution, 15 fps, with a single audio stream at 22 KHz. Probably could have stored them in higher quality but with the soundtrack being 47 minutes of CD audio the disc was already full.

    Thanks for the specs information.

Something that's fun to imagine, is that somewhere, there is probably an ORIGINAL computer-rendered version of all these video clips, with crystal clear graphics...

And it's probably just been sitting in some hard drive, since the 90's, in the corner of someone's basement, or maybe in some company's storage room, somewhere.

So that would be awesome if that ever surfaced, someday. Especially if there were was any extra content, which was created, but didn't make it into the released games.

Also, such original content, could be anywhere, between SEGA as a global corp., and the smaller company who made Ecco (Appaloosa / Novotrade), and maybe it would even be found in some individual's personal collection... Who knows.

Thanks for these. I like when Ecco has had enough of the asterite attack and gives it the side-eye for a moment.
