Yes like the Codemaster J-Cart with 4 paddle ports inside ^^ It would be awesome.
But I suppose it is more difficult & expensive to manufacture such special cartridges.

You can see other screenshots of Project Y here :

Oh I doubt Watermelon would be too trouble by making a custom cart but if the game is optimised for colour and on screen bad guys like sor3 then I doubt 3 or 4 players would be feasible

Intriguing that crack is in the corner of the image again on the second shot! I still think this is off some sort of promotional flyer, packaging or poster.

So we have an aquarium, underground train and a mansion/Gothic environment?

I think there is a lot of different places & environments, the game features 14, 24 or 34 stages...

I'm not quite fond of the color choices. The game is not released yet but needs a color hack already

Indeed there is a lot of pinky colors but keep in mind that these screenshots are dated.
It could be very different now in the final version release of the game...

Hum... Not sure if was a good choice about the colors chosen for the "underground train" stage...
I think baby blue and pinkish would be the last choice I would have in mind for a high-tech city on a post-apocalyptic scenario.

I have a crystal ball. More seriously I could think that the WM team could see by their own will the outrageous pinkish thing.
And modify this kind of detail between the moment these screenshots had been taken and the final beta version of Project Y ending phase is a reasonable possibility. Fonzie is a perfectionist and they take more time only to make better the things they deliver in their game. Quality in every detail is an important thing for them. I trust them for that way of working and their devotion.

I'd say they were going for a Neon look. The palette looks like it's the one used for DICE

I think that it's just a late 70's/early 80's comic book style. Although the backgrounds do appear to reuse a lot of the character colors.

I'd rather have something colored more unique than just like [insert title] series. Although it does remind me of Konami's X-Men arcade.

I hope the shadows are solid and do not flicker. I hate flickering shadows. But then again I think Fonzie might be smart enough to use the shadow/highlight function for the shadows instead of making them flicker.
