TG-16 Discussion: is the Pioneer LaserActive the precursor to the Polymega?

I managed to snag one off of eBay, and the fact that it has modules for different systems (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis/MEGA-LD and NEC PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16/LD-ROMē) got me thinking that the Polymega team must have been inspired by this marvelous historical piece of tech.

No because that system was real and not a scam.

No because that system used real hardware and not cheap emulation.

Would love to see pictures of the Pioneer Laseractive in action. Seems like the ultimate early 90s all in one. Laserdiscs, Genesis, Turbografx, and Karaoke all rolled into one! Can it play CDs as well?
