When my Brother and I took a trip to Seattle in 1993, we stopped by a (Circuit City?) store and I bought Vasteel (over Exile) since Working Designs TG-16 games weren't sold in Canada and he bought Ghosts 'n Goblins for SMS, because it was one of the games we hadn't come across back home.

    Exile 1 or Wicked Phenomenon?

I enjoy Exile 1 over Vasteel, but if you skipped WP then I think you dodged a bullet lol.

I have seen Master System for the 1st time only a few years ago when I was on some game con in Zagreb. It was behind the glass along with some other old consoles like PS2. I have yet to see Saturn and Dreamcast.

Cheers for posting this I enjoyed watching that. Wonderboy in Monsterland was my favourite game growing up. He doesn't mention but I assume it made it out to the US surely...

The Master System had lots of solid games and will go down in history as a good console that just never really caught on in North America.

By 1991 no one at Sega was trying to make the MS catch on. It was low-priced, entry level hardware for people looking for a cheap console that would hopefully result in them purchasing a Genesis. Atari did the same thing with the 2600 and Nintendo with the NES toploader.

Arguably the Master System is the longest-lived console at retail since it has been continuously selling in various forms in Brazil to this day.
