I like SA from a nostalgia standpoint but it's not what I would call a good game but at the time felt amazing as the first proper 3D Sonic and showed off the DC's power compared to PS1/N64.

Mostly agreed. I did eventually come to enjoy Billy Hatcher, but that game could never have much mass-market appeal. Was Naka involved in the 3D world in Sonic Jam? I never got much into that because it was so incredibly limited and nothing to really do except wander to the different houses to watch a video or another one to play the games.
