I have no idea how I missed this topic and a year late but I FUCKING LOVE Assault Suit Leynos. I esp love the PS4 remake. Plus many similar games like Metal Warriors. Gunhazard. Hardcore Mecha. Wolf Fang. Assaults Suits Leynos 2/Valken. Gigantic Army. Gunhound EX. I esp adore ASL on PS4. I wish I had that model kit but they are so pricey. Maybe one day. I guess my name kinda gives it away and my love for mecha. Target Earth is now on the Nintendo Switch Online Genesis app. TE is tougher than the remake mainly because Sheild is not a default.

    Life?!...What console is that on?

Target Earth was really good. My personal upgrade to Transbot for the SMS.

Leynos absolutely owns. Favourite game I played last year.
Early MD game, actually feels like you're part of a large scale war: allied soldiers are all over. Very different from your usual commando-style action mech game. Big reason why I like it much more than Valken (which is also an absolutely amazing game).

Watch out for the lame-ass localization Target Earth though, not only the localization is fully butchered but there's also a censored scene.
I'm actually editing a video that covers that and other censored MD games.
Also the manual: the Japanese one basically gives you a lore paragraph per stage, whereas the English one gives you oneliner garbage.

I livestream different systems and Japanese exclusives with some language competence.
Since 2014, though, I carry on the Megamarathon project: beating and documenting every single Mega Drive videogame.
    All regions, unlicensed, unreleased, homebrews...

I've just started playing Target Earth. Haven't progressed too far with it but I've enjoyed what I've seen.

Everyone should play the remake on Steam/PS4. I don't know if the physical is still cheap but if not the digital often goes on sale for just a couple of bucks. Same devs who did the remake also did Gunhound EX on PSP/Steam. If interested Gigantic Army is another tribute game on modern systems.

You can find the PS4 version physical for around 20 bucks USD. It just went completely unnoticed by people who aren't already Assault Suits fans. It's a shame because it's a damn good remake that does exactly what a remake should do, improve upon the flaws of the original.

Gunhound EX is also very much worth picking up, just as good if not better than the games that inspired it.

Gunhound EX can't really be bought on Steam anymore, right? I can't seem to track this title down.

Damn, I had no idea. That's a shame.
