This SHMUP kinda reminds me of Wings of Wor, but on steroids. Hope this becomes available this year!

This is one that I'm really looking forward to. The team behind it is great and it looks fantastic.
Same. I hope they take all the time they need to finish what looks to be an amazing game, but I'm definitely eager to try this.
The graphics and sound are looking exceptional, truly triple AAA grade. It will be interesting to see were this will sit quality wise in an already crowded and competitive genre on the MD.
That looks great. I'll definitely be looking for it when it's released.
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this one. It seems to be its own thing, has a unique art style, unique presentation and looks really, really cool.
Fingers crossed for it end up being what we expect it to be, whatever it is.
yeh this looks like its going to be absolutely brilliant
ive been keeping an eye out for any latest news on this, but seems to be a bit quiet - which is probably a good thing tbf - spending more time on the game development than the hype (at this stage, at least)!!
will most certainly be backing this one!!
definitely liking some of the ideas like the stage design and choice of 3 different heavily armed weapons
Even though the Megadrive/Genesis had tons of shooters ive always been under the impression that it never fulfilled its full potential in this genre even though it had amazing ones like Thunderforce 4 (probably the best 16 bit shooter). It seemed like magazines got sick of so many shooters fairly early to mid of the consoles life span and as a result started marking even the best ones down for 'not being original'.
Even masterpieces like the mentioned Thunderforce 4 topped out at only 8 megs, if i remember correctly.
I've always wanted to see what decent developers could do on the Megadrive with 16, 24 or even 32 megs, in this genre (think of what a company like Technosoft could have done with this cart size and alot more developement time)
Imagine the amount of animation and art/features they could cram in.
More recently we had a taste of this with the amazing Darius port which is basically arcade perfect which comes in at 32 megs but id love to see an original title being done with one of the bigger cart sizes.
This is why i am so excited to see this game being developed with what looks like a lot of talent working on it. I think we could be in for something very special with this game.
Yes, the Viewpoint port was the biggest at 16 Megs. It was reasonable conversion, but not amazing.
Apart from that late-ish release, original entries in the genre petered out after the fighting game boom took off so Thunder Force IV was indeed the technical pinnacle for the time. I think most examples arrived in 90 -91 and were light in ROM size.
So there is definitely room for some new material, creatively as well as technologically.
Leisurely here, but c'mon great an big boy!

Ive been absolutely pumped for this game since day -1. The dev team has been painfully slow with updates, has no email list or announcement list though, which is a real bummer. If they can get their promo act together a bit more, and I bet they will, Ill throw down on the kickstarter for sure. I love the indie stuff on Genny with a passion, and this looks top notch.

I've been eagerly following this as well. I understand its largely the same team behind Super XYX (available on Steam for PC) which is very fun if you like vertical shmups of the 90s. Its also the same artist as Neo XYX on the neogeo (which was otherwise programmed and produced by different people from Super XYX), which is also very good. The artist is great, imo he really nails the Toaplan vibe from games like Truxton.
For updates I just followed their twitter. I probably only check twitter once a month but Ill probably still see stuff about it not long after it releases.
Game does looks very nice but I just can't see the fun factor there and I want to have video games with fun in it and not for graphics wise
I love Shadow Dancer!"
