Default Worth looking for off-road racing games?

Having recently discovered 'Quad Challenge' on the Genesis (and strangely enjoyed it.. ) I began to wonder if there are some really good games or arcade conversions out there featuring atv's or motocross bikes.

Starting with the genesis, then Saturn/PSX, ending in DC/PS2, are there any gems I may have missed?

If not, what are the best, even if not outstanding in any way?

Well, it's slightly after PS2 (but still for a SD console) but I would encourage anyone that like arcade racing games to check out Excite Truck for Wii.
It has a risk vs reward system in which courses aren't won just by arriving first at the finish line but also by collecting points with crazy jump/stunts akin to San Francisco Rush.
It's great fun and one of the relatively hidden gem on Wii (and off course it's off road).

    EDIT:
Ah only motocross bikes, didn't read that part.
    Excitebike 64 is good.

There’s already a thread about MX games.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for!
