Default Spooky Genesis/MD Games for Halloween

I have a tradition of playing spooky themed games around this time of year. For this year, I've decided to do first playthrough's of a couple recent releases "Demons of Asterborg" and "The Curse of Illmore Bay". Also going to try to get to "Bram Stoker's Dracula" if I have time. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" is a mediocre game but such an awesome soundtrack with music by Matt Furniss.

Anyone else do something like this or have some favorite games they like to play around Halloween?

For the Genesis, Decap Attack, Castlevania, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Ghouls and Ghosts are my favorites for this time of year.

I don't know, I might try Polterguy. I'm still on my Super Space Invaders kick so I probably won't start any new pixel adventures till after Halloween.

Chakan is a pretty dark game, but the difficulty level can be very frustrating.

Already said but Haunting Starring Polterguy is my favourite of the more halloweeney games: fun to revisit, lots of presentation quality. Overall a great unique game minus a couple bugs.

I see some other nice titles are presented!
Bram Stoker's Dracula is a good title imho, great variety and presentation (also Matt Furniss is king and you know it); Decap Attack I've tried to revisit last Halloween but the levels got very repetitive for me, I'll stick to listening to the soundtrack.

For spoopy balls-hard games I'd add Nightmare Circus along with Chakan, which are two big favourites of mine that have a lot of underrated value.

Nice choices by everyone! A lot of my favorites mentioned here. Scooby Doo Mystery is still one I haven't tried but looks like it could be a fun one to play. Point and click right? Chakan is on my list of games to beat at some point but sweet Jesus is that game hard Maybe next year I'll just take the entire month of October to try and beat it lol

Hopefully this won't derail the thread too much, but I've recently cleared Chakan on hard and.. Geez that hack is interesting! Anyway it won't save you from the only real bullshit crazy section of the game which is the latter lava platforming part, buggy as heck.

(Ok maybe I just wanted to brag)

Have a look at The Curse Of Illmoore Bay.

It's not from back in the day but it is a really great game. (platforming action with puzzles)

Scooby Doo on the Genesis has somewhat of a spoopy feel to it.

Risky Woods has kind of a spooky feel to it, I recently posted it for one of my Halloween games.

I'll second that Curse of Illmore Bay. That game is a great little title, and perfect for the Halloween collection.
