All I ask is they use Yuzo Koshiros music.

    Life?!...What console is that on?

Oh, wow. This is so unexpected and makes me so happy. Using Yuzo's music is a must. I hope the director realizes that. They can change anything else and I won't care. Also I can't imagine it being set in any era other than the 90s. But this is Hollywood so who knows.

I feel like a Streets of Rage movie is redundant when Jackie Chan - Rumble in the Bronx and Steven Segal - Out for Justice exist. They are basically Streets of Rage: The Movie.

I keep getting vibes that it's going to be something similar to Big Trouble in Little China or Walter Hill's The Warriors.

I'd like to see them incorporate the special from the original game.

The Warriors and Streets of Fire were the movies that inspired the entire genre of beat'em ups. Streets of Fire even had the protagonist named Cody, who is out to rescue his kidnapped (ex-)girlfriend, practically the backstory of Final Fight.
Big Trouble in Little China is more known for inspiring the basic aesthetic for Mortal Kombat (and Jean-Claude Van Damme's Bloodsport giving it the tournament feel; Johnny Cage was meant to be played by JCVD but they couldn't get him for mocap).
