Too bad It includes Sonic 3D blast instead of the 2017 director's cut...

I have been replacing my roms with better hacks (or even combined hacks) for years but they could have contacted him for this one...

Who knows, maybe they aren't even aware of its existence.

I assume they would have had to have contracts signed, etc to include it. If they are aware of it's existence they may not have wanted to renegotiate as they already own the original 3D Blast.

Anyway, I think this is the strongest lineup in mini device so far. Way stronger than the first megadrive mini. And despite the loss of Lunar, the International version has the better lineup by a mile.

I admire Sega's bold move: the Japanese one has a staggering TEN CD titles esclusive to It. Sega could have replaced them with other CD titles, instead the only CD exclusive for the west Is Sewer Shark. That means the western mini 2 is packed with cartridge quality. Well done.

I'm pretty impressed with the lineup of games on this, and considering i'll probably install some custom firmware to stick a few more on when I buy it i'm extremely tempted to pick one of these up.

Just hope if I do I can use my bluetooth controller.

They have added true sprite scaling to Space Harrier 2, this is a major improvement and a step up from the original.
Presume this would not be possible on a true Mega Drive.

"Space Harrier II sees the classic Genesis launch title given an extreme makeover for Genesis Mini 2!

34 years later, Space Harrier II now features true sprite scaling, making the game even more blasting impressive than ever before! 💥"

Not on a MD, but yes on a Sega CD, no?

On launch? Nah probably not. Before the end of the year? Likely.

I mean damn, I gotta play Landstalker on this thing you know. I never bought the 2019 MD mini lol.

I could be wrong, but the fact the game sprites flicker a lot makes me think it's an MD game using tricks to simulate the scaling. If it used the Sega CD scaling capabilities, I'd expect no flickering.

it's not announced as a CD game, so the rom should work fine on any stock console, as should all those new ports/games which is what excites me the most (as they are licensed by Sega)

You can't accuse Sega of being lazy with these things anymore, shame there is no European variant though.

EDIT: There is a UK variant presume same games as the US one.

The enhanced scaler games are using some sort of emulated scaling hardware that's not present on a stock console. According to some interview I saw they did build a one-off hardware implementation of the scaler, but you can't just throw it on your Everdrive and expect it to work
