    Master System Zillion II: Tri-Formation

The first Zillion game was a wonderful and exciting action title with lots of exploration. Its sequel stripped all of that away and instead gave players a dull and repetitive affair. It might not necessarily be a bad game, but it definitely came up short compared to its predecessor. Read our full review for more details.

I haven't tried this one yet so I can't really comment on the game itself.

That being said, as much as I liked the laser battles and collecting data cards in the original Zillion ,I don't think I could go through the same thing all over again. Even the original was a bit too long for my liking. The levels became redundant and by the end I was glad it was over with.

I don't know much about Tri Formation but if I had to find some thing good, I'd say at least they tried to change it up a little with the cycle stages.

One thing I can say for the Tri-Formation is that the character sprites are a lot better than in Zillion. It would be cool to see a hack of Zillion with the Tri-Formation sprites.
