Interesting. As someone who has never managed to get past the second level of Comix Zone, I have no idea if there's much of a storyline to go off![]()
I'd go with Woody Harrelson(wearing a wig) as Sketch and Gary Oldman as Mortus. Nick Cage as Strigil, Kane Hodder as Gravis, and Steven Seagal as a lardass version of Styx.
In the director's chair I'd go with Albert Pyun or Uwe Boll.

That's a surprise, but really exciting if it actually pans out. I hope they get Howard Drossin for the music.

To be honest I'll be surprised if they ever make it to screen, and I'm really sceptical they'll pull them off well anyway. Why? Well, I'm not convinced that Space Channel 5 won't just be Space Channel 5 in name only (see Jem and the Holograms, for example), and Comix Zone's going to be really hard to do justice visually. How are the comic scenes going to work? Unless they're going to spend seriously big I can't see them capturing the '90s comic flavour, and it'll be really easy to look cheap.
I'm skeptical of anything from Sega these days but one thing that gives me optimism here is that Picturestart is the latest company by Erik Feig, who has produced some big films over the past 25 years. If he gets a decent budget I think he can do a good job with these IPs. I knew him briefly years ago, super cool dude, very humble in spite of his fame, but if you work with him he expects you to give 110% every time.

They are also planning a Streets of Rage movie, wonder if that's going anywhere or not.
What they should really do is turn Baku Baku into an animated movie/series.
Please, no Bug! movie.![]()
There is no way a Streets of Rage film would be good. There isn't enough of a story. I'm not getting my hopes up for a good film of Comix Zone either, although I like the game a lot. Will it be Cool World Part 2? Ech! They need a big star to make it work. Like The Rock in Jumanji, I'd say that worked pretty well. But will it be eclipsed by the Jumanji films, with similar ideas?
Space Channel 5 could be a big hit if it's a musical comedy with great dancing sequences! People might just need such a light and fun escapism film. Who will play Ulala?
Do you really need much of a story for that? Someone gets kidnapped by a gang, a group of martial artists sets out to bring them back, choreograph a few fights in places that look like stages from the games, etc. As long as there's at least one scene where they go to a nightclub and Yuzo Koshiro songs are playing I'll be happy.
Imagine if these were released in the 90s, all with that Turtles movie vibe.
Okay, now I'm holding out for a Fatal Labyrinth movie. Actually, a Vectorman movie could be cool.
