The most worthless are those automatic soap dispensers for the home. "Sanitary!" "Stops the spread of germs"

I'm going to wash my hands *right after* getting my soap. The pump being dirty/germy is a moot issue.

    Completely useless.

I never understood the point of pet birds anyway. They have wings. They fly. Thats what they do. Keeping them in a cage all day seems cruel and counterintuitive. Yeah you could say but what about pet fish well at least the fish can swim around in a circle eh

Maybe in the home, I wouldn't pay extra for that. The problem is that "everybody" is wiping their feces on the soap dispensers and nobody is waiting for the water to heat up over 115 degrees before washing their hands. With or without soap most food borne illnesses are spread this way. The worst offender is people not washing at all though, and then not properly heating the food they serve to customers. I had to sit through more than one all day seminar back when I was in food service. Fecal Oral was the main term that stuck with me.

Still cannot believe that "selfie" is a term and the word humble is still in the dictionary.

"Not only that, but the technically inferior Saturn was $100 more expensive than the PS one"

thats it, this calls for a console compare chart.

Where are the writer's sources? Yes, I know I love SEGA, but this "journalist" is way off the mark on his SEGA history!

I'm getting the impression that this guy just pieced together rumors from buddies of his after a SEGA related game of Telephone. When did universities in the U.K. start teaching aspiring journalists that you can use personal opinion to rewrite history?? If you're going to make a historical article public, it better damn well be factual. The whole article is a farce filled with subjective opinions, rumors/legends, and half-truths.

On the Mega CD and 32X, it is the same old tired story journalists have been repeating (aka marketing) for decades now. "Expensive" has become "highly expensive" and "poorly supported" has become "totally unnecessary, just look at Nintendo." No really, that is the only rationale in the story, Nintendo milked their hardware for longer, so why didn't Sega.

Let's not look even for a second at annual sales figures before saying, Sega could have just "stayed the course." Then we can sit back in our wing back chairs and smirk at how much better we all are.

But where do people get the idea that the PS1 is more powerful than the Saturn? I see this everywhere

The PS1 is technically able to toss around more polygons (namely triangles) at higher framerates than the Saturn, and it can do so with more effects on screen. I still have a hard time seeing it in the average game, but the PS1 was definitely easier to squeeze higher performance and more "3D PC game" like effects out of.

But everything else seems to be on the Saturn. RAM, audio, 2D, resolutions, its hard to call a console more powerful when theres so many drawbacks.

The RAM situation is actually kind of complicated. VDP1 has less RAM for 3D objects and textures than the PS1's GPU for example. Only if a game is optimized with VDP2 backgrounds and less than a full screen of textured and lit quads does the Saturn's VRAM and Frame buffers look a little bit better than the PS1's 1MB (plus fast main RAM access).

I don't care what people say, Ridge Racer Unbounded is probably the only good game with the RR name in recent years, even if it's Ridge Racer in name only.

I've had much more fun with it than with Ridge Racer 6, seriously. I hated that game with a passion. If only the newer ones were as good as Rage Racer or RR Type 4, instead of cases of highway robbery like the PS Vita game.
