    Default Robo Aleste

    <---- Disapointed in Robo Aleste!

I'm a bit surprised at the score the writer gave this game, a perfect 10. The games difficulty level alone should drop the rating a point or two. Also, when compared to other similar shooters, Thunderforce 3 and Lightening Force, the graphics pale in comparisan.

Has anyone actually finished this game without any cheats?

I can't agree with you here mate, the game is stunningly beautiful, is a really fun shooter, and the music is awesome. I personally think its a joy..
"Age badly is something women do, games are good or bad when they are released. "

"It's like watching Runic stones by vikings here in Täby: not beautiful compared to Mona Lisa, but damn fine stuff for their time, as Phantasy Star II is, and that is why I enjoy it."

I love that game. One of the best parts about is that around here it bombed so it could be had for $15 new. My only complaint was that it was difficult to power up after dieing but still that game kicked ass. Total sleeper back in the day.

I thought it was cool, but I like MUSHA better. I'm selling my JP copy of Robo Aleste (Dennin-Aleste) for $20. So who wants it? :P

It wasn't as good as MUSHA, but it was alright.

I always will adore the samurai theme of the game.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I love this game even though it is far more difficult than MUSHA. I like the feudal times with steam powered mechs theme (Are they steam powered? I forget.). It has a cool opening cinema, cool music and challenging gameplay. I don't understand why some of you are dissing this game.

Yeah I didn't find this to be as polished as other Aleste games. I like the graphics and cutscenes though.

I noticed that after beating this game another option shows up in the OPTIONS screen, named OMAKE. It goes from 0 to 4.
Does anybody know what it's about?

BTW, this is a very good shmup.
There's nothing in it to be disappointed IMO...

This is one of the best shooters on 16-bit Sega.

The music, Story, Level design, bosses all come together so well to form an awesome shooter experience that no one should miss.

My only complaint is that some of the levels are too darn long, and once you lose to a boss, you have to do it all over again (looking at you level 3 boss).

So I just played through this game - too bad I didn't check the options menu, I wonder what those Omake options were? Was it just extra music tracks? I had another question - throughout the game there were little white ships swooping by to the left or right from the top of the screen. They were only there for a split second, and I couldn't ever seem to shoot them down or crash into them. What do those little suckers do?

It's been a long time since I've sat down and played this I'm probably talking bollocks, but are they to show you when the power-ups are about to appear?

I think this is a very good, solid SHMUP. Although I prefer Musha, Android Assault or Lightening Force.
