    Default Championship Pro-Am

The Genesis isn't exactly known for its great library of racers, and it's most likely for that reason that many people have passed over Championship Pro-Am. That's a shame, as it's undoubtedly one of the best in the genre, and worth tracking down. Lucky for you we have a full review of it! Who loves ya, baby?

I used to have this, but I don't really see how it was so great. Grating sound and frustratingly hard gameplay. Besides, the weapons were bad compared to Combat Cars. =)

    10 seems REALLY generous.

10 is a bit much, though I do think it's a good game.

Reviews lately have been handing out 10s like condoms at a gay nightclub. I think we should reign it in a bit.

Yeah, I try to make sure that the reviewer is as sure as possible that he wants to give a game a 10, as only the absolute pinnacle of perfection should get it, in my opinion. I do believe in leaving a reviewer's score alone if they're unwilling to change it, which is why I put the disclaimer on the main review page.

There are several games we've reviewed that honestly don't deserve a perfect score, IMO, but...

It's a seriously good game. I recently got around to playing more. My 4 year old wanted something simple that had driving, I tossed this in and she was hooked. I played it last night while the kids were sleeping...Boom, 2 hours later. That game is seriously fun. It's fast, simple, responsive, easy to pick up and put down. I'm really impressed with how well it controls.

Recently, these really quick play games have been getting lots of my time. Championship Bowling, Dragon's Fury, Pit-Fighter, Super Smash TV, and Championship Pro-Am. They are just fast, easy arcade-style games. They suit the system well. I think this is always what I loved about the Genesis library. Twitchy, skill-based arcade games. I don't miss the RPG's of the SNES really...

Genesis has action, sports, puzzle, fighting, strategy games for days. The library has really opened up for me recently. Good times...
