    Whoa American Gladiators

Long before Hulk Hogan joined them, the American Gladiators were crushing and slamming their way into a nation's conciousness. The program was one of the first of its type in the U.S. and paved the way for shows like Most Extreme Elimination Challenge and Ninja Warrior to become popular stateside. Such a popular show obviously spawned several video game renditions, and the Genesis version barely managed to fight its way up from the pool of suck where many of them festered... barely. Read our full review and get ready to joust this one into the trash pile!

    Enjoy.

Writer's Note: This game is one of those games I always played and went "It has to be better THIS time!' and then it was never any good.

I played both the NES and SNES versions (bored working at a game store).

    Both of those sucked too.

I remember playing this game on emulator and quickly wished I hadn't.
Very good humerous review, credit to whoever wrote it, although I forget to check who and can't be bothered to go back.
    Tosh game.

Wow, I never thought this show was so successfull....I remember one or two seasons of the US-show were aired here, and some action-figures were sold....but it was widely ignored.
Looking at those hilarious looking gladiators again now, I am even more surprised the show was so long-living in the US.

You'll be surprised to know it has returned, but with less cheesy outfits and what look like better challenges.

Hulk Hogan........man has his life and family fallen apart. His gig as the host of the new A G is probably what's been keeping him from going under. Self-serving, egotistical bald bastard.

I remember watching the show back in the early nineties and liking it: I missed Jeux sans frontičres / It's a Knockout and that Yank show had that crazy ghymkana factor I liked so much.
But, alas, years have passed, and several days ago, when I tried this game, expectations were low. And low they remain: as expected, it's just a collection of mediocre minigames that match the events of the show. And if you ask me, I'd rather watch the later than play the former.
