Why companies must taunt us with video game versions of our favorite films is something no one may ever know. Though the trend has slowed a bit recently, the dark legacy of the licensed video game is a shadow no project may ever overcome. And with titles like Predator 2 to remind us of how even the best intentions can pave a road to gaming hell, it looks like we'll be discussing this topic for some time. Whatever good will gamers had to spare for Arena's run-'n-gun was quickly overshadowed by a duo of incredible Aliens vs. Predator titles for arcades and the Jaguar a scant two years later, and the game has since been far overshadowed by two great PC releases. I think it now spends its time in an abandoned tenement polishing skulls with the Game Boy and SNES versions. Ouch. Regardless, we have a full review of the Genesis game, so read on and see why this one should be left to self destruct.

I like the movie but didn't really care for this game. I Don't want to say it was too hard, I just think it was too boring.

The only Predator game I actually liked was "Predator: Concrete Jungle" because I actually got to play as the Predator. The story is alright, but there is no replay value.

I bought this game because of the movie.... should have gone with Batman. Overall, boring best sums up the game, and the music is terrible!

i really liked this game diffuculty is some times hard but the action is fast

Fair review and score; could well have been lower given the game's brevity, it might be the shortest on the G/MD though as opposed to Osomatsukun it's unlikely to be beaten one's first play.

I hated this game, but I think I still managed to bulldoze my way through it in a sitting or two.

I used to feel the same way about it before I finally gave it a fair chance, a few years after I got it. Then I started to really enjoy it, and I must have beaten it at least 3 times.

I just tried it again earlier today, and I still think it's very fun. I'd give it an 8.

Can't say the game looks terrible from the video I checked out briefly. The gun sounds are pretty good.

A lot of 16-bit movie licenses don't look (or sound) that solid. With that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the best Predator tie-in on console.

Not a terrible top-down shooter by any stretch of the imagination but still a waste of the licenses potential. Some nice sound effects and blood and guts lift the interest slightly but the average gamer will finish it very quickly.

Finally bought this game and booted it up, Jesus who thought this soundtrack was a good idea? Its like someone hacked the rom and inserted tunes ripped straight from Puggsy.
I swear Matt Furniss must just have had a big catalog of original tunes that he once composed and he'd just pick stuff out whenever they needed a music track for a game.
The music in this game completely fails to make the player feel like he/she is playing a game based on the movie, it loses like 50% of the Predator movie feel.

Don't get me wrong, I think Furniss composed some great tunes. but they should have been used only for original creations like Puggsy.
They just don't fit for movie games like these.

Someone on youtube said this music makes him picture the Predator going to town, but only to buy groceries and smoke a blunt.

this IS one of his worst soundtracks IMO
