    Default OutRun

Everybody likes Out Run. The Ferrari, the music, the multiple paths; it's all good. As one of the seminal racing games ever made, it has achieved almost legendary status. Originally released on the Sega Master System, it was brought to the Genesis in 1990 and was considered the best version until Sega brought it back for the Sega Ages Series.

Smurfted, you're acting awfully spam-botty, like those YouTube bots who try to mask their bullshit by leading with vague references to the video before pimping some other website.

I'm not the only one who is getting tired of this, I'm sure.

They are intended to be seen as one off's, not as they're being seen right now..

I have been busy with this for a few months & thought i'd post them in their relevant threads. I made them & posted as a homage to the good times i spent on them (even some that don't seem so good today ).

Anyone care to tell me why I waited so long before buying this game? Seriously, what's my problem?

I've played it for about thirty seconds and love it. I really need to get a life.

I know, I've only just heard Magical Sound Shower. My head is of course hanging in shame!

Also, you seem like a racing fan, do you shout "Saaaaygaaa Ralleeeeee Championship" when you negotiate hairpin turns whilst driving? Me and my brother do, it makes driving more fun.

I also have to really resist the urge to mount the curb or drive cross country ater a long sesh on GTA.

The Genesis/Mega Drive version of OutRun is really great! OutRunners is pretty fun with two players too. The OutRun arcade games were ported to several other console platforms that are worth checking out as well: Master System (OutRun and OutRun 3D), Game Gear, Saturn (arguably the best port of the arcade game), Dreamcast (Shenmue 2 and Yu Suzuki collection), etc. The newer arcade games like OutRun 2 and OutRun 2 SP made it to the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PSP (as OutRun 2006 for the last two). Tons of excellent OutRun games out there.

I'm planning on getting a bunch of soundtracks to classic SEGA racers and playing them in my car while I drive fast. Might go up to Pike's Peak and start that crazy Joe Satriani SEGA Rally music. Then I could listen to OutRun on the way home! I love how SEGA racing games make you feel when you either lose or finish the game: "GAME OVER YEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

That's Joe Satriani? No wonder it rocks! Also, you mentioned tee shirts, when does mine arrive?

Agreed, it has a happy, summertime carefree sort of vibe to it - music scenary etc. all add to it. Great game.
