    Default ToeJam & Earl

ToeJam & Earl is one of the best games on Genesis, hands down. It's fast and quirky fun and many people consider it one of the best and most addictive games to be released in the magical Genesis year of 1991. It's the type of game that never seems to get tiresome.

One of the best games on the console but part 2 is better. Melf, contrary to your statement in your post, I think the game is rather slow and methodic but still great!

This is one of the best games on the Genesis. I really want to know how they did split-screen so well back in 91 when TJ&E was released. Shit, they still can't do efficient split-screen co-op in today's games.

    Jammin'.

I can't believe this one is still missing from my collection! Inexcusable.

I finally got my hands on a cart. I played it a long time ago and remembered liking it. So far, it's every bit as good as I remembered.

Talking about this game would take long and I couldn't express how I love it. Wonderful, hilarous, random, adventurous... A proof that good ideas don't need to be wrapped in bells and whistles to form a great game. Even likely tedious tasks like trying out the sound test (those funky licks and especially the SFX are one of the greatest things in this game. Some of the sounds I've ever heard in a game) or getting to the level 0 can turn to be a new exciting adventre. All-in-all, one of the masterpieces of the 16-bit era.

BTW, dig this Philly groove and tell me if the beginning sounds familiar or not:

And now, I shall leave you for a moment. I have to play TJ & Earl. JAMMIN'!

just wanted to echo all the love here for this one - quirky 90s fusion of hip hop & roguelike, still in my top 10. love this game & have beaten it several times over the years!

I picked Toe Jam and Earl this week to look at on Zilog and Moto. I thought it was appropriate, considering all the presents from Santa you open, and if you're quick, you can catch him jetting around a level or two.
