    Default Toy Story

Toy Story, released in 1995, was a movie done by Pixar, in full 3D animation. The movie became quite popular, and did well in the box office. The game came the following year, 1996, for the SNES, Sega Genesis, PC, and Gameboy. But does the game live up to the standards set by how well the movie did? Letís take a look.

I just saw a review of this game and it was amazing how much stuff they packed into it. Platforming, overhead levels, driving levels, and even first person stages. This would be considered one of the top Genesis games of all time if it didnt come out so late in its lifespan.

Just wrote a review of this in the Winner is You thread.

Suffice it to say, I think this game is absolutely phenomenal. We all have that one game that makes us into gushing fanboys, and for me, this is it.

It's a jack of all trades, I never felt engaged enough by it to fully beat it.

Toy Story is one of my favorite Disney games on Mega Drive. Love the gameplay, graphics and its diversity

I just went back to this little gem and finally managed to beat level 1 without getting a headache. I don't know what it was back in the day that simply made me so dizzy/nauseous to even play level 1. Which did suck, because this is such a good game. The only other thing that threw me off back in the day was that I expected it to have come out as a full-on 3D title, perhaps for any of the 32bit platforms of the day. But what a great looking game this is. Makes me wonder how Clockwork Knight would've looked like on the Genesis.

    BIG QUESTION:

Did this game also come out on a plastic clamshell?

I have one cardboard box version that says "Made in Mexico" and a lose cart copy that says "Made in USA". I'm wondering if anyone knows if the "Made in USA" version came in a plastic clamshell or not.

I would have loved to see a high color, high res version of Toy Story on Saturn. It could have looked just like the movie.

I'm not sure, but this may be the last great MD game released back during its official lifespan: The guys at Traveller's Tales almost made me think I was playing a 2.5-D game. Technically brilliant (if quite colourless) and, especially, entertaining.
