    Default Recommend Some Dreamcast Titles!

I'm looking to pickup some quality titles, or maybe even try some of your favorites because I'm curious to get the most out of the system. I already own all the Sega CD, 32X, and Sega Saturn games I've been meaning to get. But somehow, the Dreamcast is a big mystery to me, mostly because I know that even overseas there's some quality titles I'm not getting a hold of. I ordered a disc that lets me swap for import titles, so I'm ready to try anything you guys have in store for me, wherever it's from!

    My Current Collection:

    Sonic Adventure
    Soul Calibur
    Blue Stinger
    Carrier
    Psychic Force 2012
    Seventh Cross Evolution
    Grandia II
    Evolution 1 and 2
    D2
    Shenmue
    NFL 2K
    Time Stalkers
    Bangai-o (my current favorite)
    Silent Scope
    Elemental Gimmick Gear
    18 Wheeler Pro Trucker
    Death Crimson
The House of the Dead 2
    NFL Blitz 2000
    I-Spy: Operation Espionage
    Resident Evil: Code Veronica
    F355 Challenge
    Sega Rally 2
    Slave Zero
    MDK 2
    Virtua Fighter 3tb
    The King of Fighters 98
    Marvel vs Capcom 2
    Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
    Tech Romancer
    Project Justice
    Plasma Sword
    Last Blade 2
Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves
    Giga Wing

I hope this thread doesn't irritate anyone, but I figure if there's Sega fans here, I may interest some folks who have found some Dreamcast classics that I may have missed!

Sonic Adventure 2 is one kick-arse game, way better than SA1 for the most part.

Triggerheart Exelica is quite nice vertical shmup

Triggerheart Exelica looked awesome! I'll look into that one, that's for sure.

Also, I'm intrigued to hear Sonic Adventure 2 is better than the original, I liked the original, but if it's better than the original than I shall definitely try it sometime!

HOLY CRAP! Mars Matrix looks awesome, I'm definitely picking that one up because I love Shmups a lot!

I have Ikaruga for the Nintendo Gamecube, but I'm sure the Dreamcast version is great too.

Also, Zero Gunner II looked unique, the fact that it's a Shmup that you can turn around in is cool. I'd like to check it out too!

Border Down looked awesome too, I looked at some Youtube videos, and I was quite impressed! Same goes with Under Defeat and Last Hope, being I love Shmups!

Demolition Racer - No Exit is a great destruction derby/racing game hybrid with a shitload of unlockable cars and game modes. I got it for $2 complete + shipping on eBay last summer. It's a great multiplayer game, and the single player mode will keep you entertained for a while. I'd recommend it.

One of the games I had the most fun with on the Dreamcast was Toy Commander.

Man, for cheap and entertaining? Sounds like a deal!

I heard a bit about this one, but given this one is cheap enough, and because we have a lot of the same taste in games, I shall gladly check this one out!

Also, this question goes for everyone on the forums, but is Seaman really worth the money? It sounds kind of unique, but I don't know how enjoyable it is because I've never played it, yet it seems like something of a novelty.

Same goes with Chu Chu Rocket and Samba De Amigo, I hear a lot about those two.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

Cool, it looked like a lot of fun, and given Sonic Team's track record back in the day, I had a feeling that game would be good.

The videos for the game looked fun when I saw them, but I'm glad to know the multiplayer has something to offer too, being I have willing friends to drag into some retro-gaming goodness!

Jet Grind Radio- I've been playing this game a whole lot lately, it's a lot of fun. The graphics are amazing for the system it is on, the gameplay is similar to a Tony Hawk game, only there is more of an emphasis on speed and freedom of movement around a level than doing tricks. It's just a whole lot of fun and I couldn't recommend it to someone lookingfor more Dreamcast games enough.

Thanks, given it is developed by the same people who worked on Panzer Dragoon Orta and Gunvalkrie for the Xbox, this game comes as something of a great recommendation. Of course, I did some research on the development team of the game as I say this.

I watched some videos and came to realize that the idea of graffiti as a gameplay mechanic could be addictive (I like how there's different characters as well). Seriously, I thought the game looked very ahead of its time.

    Thank you!

"Power Stone 2" is the only reason I even have a Dreamcast.

Would you recommend the second Power Stone game over the original?

Just curious because I thought they both looked good, but I figured the second one would have more to offer, at the very least it was four-player as opposed to the original being just two-player.

I just couldn't get into it. It's really a virtual fish tank with a pet that evolves to the point that it can learn to talk. I never got past the first day though, because it was about as painful as setting up a real fish tank.

Border Down is great, but it's going to cost quite a bit to play....unless you plan on just using a backup.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Skies of Arcadia, the best RPG on the system.
