Soul Star

Soul Star, from the company that brought us a Sega CD and Genesis version of Chuck Rock earlier on, decided to come back and go sci-fi this time, and to change from an action platform audience on towards a shooter stage. Were they successful? Not quite, but all-in-all the game is kinda neat. Even though parts of it are rather bland, there are other aspects which can make up for it all together. Soul Star was not a very successful game, but if patience strikes people, it can beckon to a rather cult audience who enjoys its style.

Wings of Wor

Dreamworks had been quiet for quite a while, not releasing any other titles since Trampoline Terror, Target Earth, or even the horrid puzzler, Shove it!: The Warehouse Game. So many people did not look towards Dreamworks for hot games, especially given their past reputation with some of those previous (and crappy) titles. But low and behold, after laying low for a couple of years, they came back and brought us Wings of Wor. Thankfully so, it’s actually fairly good

Keio Flying Squadron

Keio Flying Squadron is your typical, very basic, bare bones, side-scroller. It has seven levels which are about equal in length, usually containing a mini-boss, maybe two if you’re lucky, and then an end boss. Beyond that, there is not much else, but what is given is just plain, good ‘ol fashion fun.

Space Harrier II

When the Genesis launched back in ’89, nothing pleased us more than to get a sequel to Space Harrier. As one of the first titles out, it was great to have at what seem at the time to be a extremely fluid game. The scaling effects of the background to foreground were leaps and bounds for us who enjoyed the original back on the Sega Master System. So as far as Space Harrier is concerned, it’s a solid game.

Forgotten Worlds

Forgotten Worlds is a great beginning shooter from the early Genesis library. A good amount of levels, shops to buy weapons, a two-player simultaneous play option, plenty to shoot, hidden items or Zenny, great colorful graphics, good sound, and a solid challenge are all present. est games on the Genesis.
