Composer and programmer Noah Copeland is giving the Game Gear Sonic classic Triple Trouble a 16-bit facelift, and we just had to hear about it! We chatted with him about why he decided to tackle this project and if there are any other 8-bit upgrades in his future. Read on for all the details!
Sonic had some special outings on the Game Gear, and they rank all over the spectrum of quality. Sonic Chaos was one release that had potential but that got bogged down by high difficulty, and repetitive gameplay. It’s still worth playing, and being a common title makes it easy to acquire. It’s not Sonic’s best effort, but it isn’t his worst, either.
The most popular installment in the classic Sonic franchise came to Android and Apple devices in 2013, before Sega revamped its mobile line with the Sega Forever brand. Complete the package with Data Discs vinyl release of the soundtrack, and you have one of the best collector’s sets released this year.
