Ecco’s final outing on a Sega console was a fitting coda to the series. It was beautiful, graceful, and darn hard! Even so, it was an outstanding way to end the series and give Sega’s legendary dolphin the 3D outing he deserved. This is one that should definitely be in any Dreamcast owner’s library.
Ulala made her gaming debut on the Dreamcast, and she’s since become one of Sega’s most iconic characters. Her first adventure, though short, was a funky romp that instantly stood out among other games, and it’s one of the most fun titles on the console. Dancing in space with aliens has never been so much fun!
Let’s get crazy! Sega’s Crazy Taxi exploded onto the arcade scene in 1999, and a stellar conversion hit the Dreamcast the next year. With new options and modes, as well as all the punk rock-filled action of the original, this port was one many spent days at a time playing. No Dreamcast owner should be without it.
Visual Concepts took its ground-breaking NBA 2K game and retooled it for the following season, adding online play and a new Street Mode. The result was the finest basketball game available at the time, and a contender seemingly able to take on anything EA or other publishers had to offer.
One Dreamcast title that North American owners wanted but never got was Headhunter, which looked to offer sleek and Metal Gear-like gameplay. A European exclusive, it made for an engaging action title that combined action and stealth with a bit of a Blade Runner vibe. It’s one that’s worth the asking price and a game everyone should track down.
