Fans of difficult side-scrollers like Ghouls ‘n Ghosts are going to have a blast with DaemonClaw. It requires strategy and practice to finish, but casual players might find the learning curve a bit too much. Perseverance is key here, as the game isn’t that long, and additional modes add some extra layers to an excellent title by BitBeamCannon.
Neofid Studios followed up its impressive Genesis debut, Demons of Asteborg, with a game that leans heavier into action while adding random dungeon layouts, multiple characters, and cooperative two-player gameplay. Astebros builds on a solid foundation to create game even better than its predecessor.
Neofid Studios is back with another title! This time, the group is bringing us a steampunk-themed shmup that’s also going to see release on the SNES and Neo Geo. The game has already been funded and smashed through all its stretch goals on Kickstarter, and if their previous work is any indication, we’re in for a real treat!
The debut title from Neofid Studios checks a lot of boxes of what you’d expect from a quality aftermarket title, and though not perfect, it’s pretty darn close. Classic side-scrolling action with some light RPG seasoning makes for a game that every Genesis owner needs to have, and it shows just how far homebrew development has come.
