Klax (Mega Drive)

Namco released a version of Klax that was a bit different from Tengen’s, with better sound and a true two-player mode, making it much more faithful to the arcade original. It only came out in Japan but should be obtainable for those puzzle fans looking for the optimal Klax experience. The ’90s may be over, but there’s still time for Klax.

Dyna Brothers 2

Real-time strategy buffs who aren’t afraid of a little Japanese will want to check out Dyna Brothers 2. Charming visuals, engaging gameplay, and dinosaurs make for a neat little game that will keep players occupied for hours. The language barrier is perhaps the only obstacle to an otherwise excellent title.

Alien Syndrome (Game Gear)

Sega’s classic Alien Syndrome has been ported to many consoles, but the Game Gear version may just be the best one. New levels, stackable weapons, and great presentation make this one run-‘n-gun worth importing. It’s only single-player, but there’s more than enough action for any alien hunter!

New 3D Golf Simulation: Waialae no Kiseki

Still looking for another golf title to try out? Tired of the PGA series and any of the multitude of golf games on the Genesis? Here’s one you probably haven’t tried. Be wary though. It hasn’t aged well visually, and the language barrier may push you away. Still, it’s interesting to find that there are still genres offering new experiences to Western Genesis players, even sports like golf.
