After some serious playtime, Sega-16 has finally reviewed Beggar Prince. We would have covered it sooner, but…well, we were too busy playing! After so long, actually getting a chance to play a fresh Genesis RPG is something that tolerates no interruption, and we’re in this one for the long haul. We know you’re enthralled as well (you did buy it, didn’t you?), but why not hit pause yourself and have a look?
It’s sad to see all the hate that Phantasy Star gets. Its biggest crime? Detouring from the established storyline, something Phantasy Star Online has been doing for more than half a decade. It may lack that special charm that fans love about the other three installments, but it’s still a pretty decent RPG in its own right.
After gifting gamers with the RPG bliss that was Lunar the Silver Star, Working Designs got to work localizing their second release, Vay. Considered to be the hardest of the WD Sega CD quartet, it was actually a sweet little game, and it featured some interesting story elements to boot.
There’s nothing like a four-day weekend for getting caught up on one’s gaming pile of shame. Amid several hour stretches of Dragon Quest VIII (screw the haters; it’s amazing), some love was also given to another famous RPG series, which only saw one outing on the Genesis – Dungeons & Dragons. Warriors of the Eternal Sun is short and sweet and very much worth checking out.
