Demolition Man (CD)

Break out the Taco Bell! Stallone and Snipes are on your Sega CD, and they’ve got lots of action and shooting to keep you busy. That is, unless you’ve already played the Genesis version. In that case, they’ve got the same game but with some grainy FMV scenes! Still, it’s worth adding to your library, since it’s a very solid action title.

Barkley Shut Up and Jam! 2

Accolade’s answer to the NBA Jam series was to give basketball star “Sir” Charles Barley his own series. The game was successful enough to spawn a sequel, but unfortunately, it doesn’t do much to push the “street b-ball” sub-genre forward. Perhaps its most remarkable feature is how it squeezes every ounce out of its undoubtedly expensive endorsement.

Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball

Baseball season may be over, but there are plenty of options for Genesis gamers to choose from so they can continue their quest for the pennant. ’90s baseball icon Frank Thomas lent his name to a title that was actually a pretty good version of the sport. Couch sluggers and managers should definitely give it a try.

Tails’ SkyPatrol

The Game Gear gave Sonic’s sidekick Tails a chance to shine, and he was featured in several different types of games. A Japanese exclusive, Tails’ SkyPatrol was a shooter that’s as short as it is colorful. It may not be a long ride, but what’s there is worth looking into.
