The Shinobi series on the Genesis is widely regarded as some of the best action titles ever made, and they definitely stand the test of time. Joe Musashi’s third outing is a fan favorite, with its stunning graphics and intense action, and it’s definitely one 16-bit title worth taking another look at.

Simulation games can be an acquired taste, and the advancement of time and technology can make some older titles seem like a chore. Centurion: Defender of Rome is one game that was much more enticing back in the day, when its paper-thin plot and shallow tactics made playing the watered down cartridge weren’t as noticeable.

Finished getting groovy with the Genesis version of Earthworm Jim? Done with the Special Edition on the Sega CD and looking for more? Why not check out the Game Gear version? It may not have all the levels and visual power of its 16-bit cousins, but it’s worth checking out, for a while at least. The princess will thank you for it!

As kids, there were always times when we had to pick and choose the games to buy. We lacked the money to buy them all, and a few always got left behind for a time. Nothing was harder than choosing which game we wanted to play more, but sometimes things work out in the end!
